Farewell, my love

Today was the last swim. The pool has definitely been my most favorite part…if only it would fit in my suitcase.

I thought I'd share one last happiness in action...

So, farewell my love. Until we meet again...

Fare Thee Well by Oscar Isaac & Marcus Mumford. Because goodbyes are always bittersweet - bitter because it's over and sweet because, for a moment, you were mine.

Welcome

I am not a writer, nor a blogger, and honestly the idea of documenting my thoughts (and sharing them with the world!) makes me a little woozy. BUT, I believe things happen for a reason. I believe I have been given a tremendous gift: the opportunity to travel to Thailand to receive a stem cell transplant. I believe that our bodies can heal. And, I believe that sometimes sharing our stories can help ourselves and others. (When contemplating the idea of writing this, someone reminded me that sometimes it's not about us, sometimes we have to step outside of ourselves and see ourselves as a conduit for something greater). So fear and shyness aside, here I am.

Thanks to the tremendous generosity of the community and my dear friends and family, on January 9th my mom and I will be traveling to Bangkok, where we will be staying for 36 days while I receive a stem cell transplant to treat SMA, Type 3.

So...this is my story. Thank you for taking an interest and for joining me in my journey.
